ENDOSCOPY

The word endoscopy derived from the Greek language means "inner viewing or observing with a purpose".  Basically, it is a procedure of looking into the cavities of the living body with  a scope that gives a  lighted view and camera capability for capturing those internal areas on film or disc. Veterinarians have been using this process since the early 1970's in order to use the least invasive option available for diagnostics and therapeutic information. 

There are several types of endoscopy used in procedures.   Some of those used here at Chugach Veterinary Practice are rhinoscopy, cystoscopy, vaginoscopy, bronchoscopy,  and otoscopy.
